Red Sea Global Forms Historic Partnership With T1 Esports Team To Enhance Brand Visibility
Red Sea Global (RSG) has entered a three-year strategic partnership with T1, a renowned esports and entertainment organisation. This collaboration was announced during the Esports World Cup in Riyadh, which runs from July 7 to August 24. The agreement is notable as it represents the first of its kind between a luxury destination developer and an esports entity.
The partnership was facilitated by CAA Sports, the exclusive commercial agent for T1. T1 is a leading esports team from South Korea, known for its success in various competitions. The team has achieved significant milestones, including winning the League of Legends championship at the inaugural Esports World Cup in 2024.

RSG's Head of Environment and Sustainability, Raed Albasseet, highlighted the growing popularity of esports among young people globally, including in Saudi Arabia. He stated that this partnership aims to reach new audiences and align RSG's brand with innovation and excellence, values embodied by T1.
T1's Chief Operating Officer, Josh Ahn, expressed enthusiasm about the collaboration. He noted that both organisations share a commitment to excellence and mastery. Ahn said they look forward to creating unique experiences that will inspire audiences worldwide through this partnership.
The global esports audience is projected to reach around 640.8 million viewers this year. This includes approximately 318.1 million regular followers and 322.7 million occasional viewers. The agreement will see RSG's logo featured on T1's official uniforms and make RSG the main sponsor of T1's YouTube content during major international events.
This move aligns with Saudi Arabia's efforts to establish itself as a global hub for sports, entertainment, and innovation. The Red Sea destination began welcoming guests in early 2023 and currently offers five luxury resorts alongside Red Sea International Airport (RSI).
Future Developments
Additional resorts are set to open on Shura Island soon. Meanwhile, Amaala is preparing to welcome its first guests this year with ambitions to become a leading health and wellness destination. It will offer 1,470 hotel rooms across eight luxury resorts managed by top wellness operators.
Furthermore, RSG inaugurated Thuwal Private Retreat in 2024 as part of its dedication to sustainable tourism development. This initiative aims to inspire global audiences through regenerative tourism practices.
