Adrena: Red Sea Global Launches New Adventure And Leisure Zone In Saudi Arabia

Red Sea Global has announced that "Adrena," a new adventure and leisure zone near The Red Sea destination, will open to the public on 1 March, following an invitation-only soft launch starting 15 February, offering a wide mix of high-energy activities for visitors.

Adrena is positioned a short drive from Shura Island and is planned to receive guests staying within The Red Sea destination as well as visitors from outside the wider development, aiming to become a key draw for those seeking organised adventure experiences in Saudi Arabia.

Adrena opens in Saudi Arabia

The zone’s centrepiece is a 215-metre seawater wave pool, described as the largest in the Kingdom when it opens. It is engineered to recreate natural wave patterns, reaching heights of up to 2.1 metres, and uses adjustable technology so that both beginners and experienced surfers can ride suitable waves.

Beyond the wave pool, the destination offers many land and water activities, including a water-skiing lagoon, cliff jumping spots, a six-metre-deep diving pool, a skate plaza, BMX track, beach sports courts, and a family water-play area, along with a floating obstacle course and aerial experiences up to 10 metres high.

Red Sea Sports and Entertainment Company will manage and operate Adrena, drawing on several specialist brands under Red Sea Global. WAMA will oversee water sports, Galaxea will lead exploration diving activities, and Akun will focus on land-based adventures, providing structured experiences for a wide range of age groups and skill levels.

The overall design of Adrena reflects Red Sea Global’s wider approach to responsible development, using seawater treatment and recycling systems within its facilities. Freshwater is reserved for irrigation only, which aims to lower environmental impact while helping to protect natural resources in the coastal area and surrounding landscape.

Adrena adventure zone Red Sea Global tourism role and visitor appeal

By offering surfing, water skiing, skateboarding and other active pursuits alongside nearby luxury resorts, Adrena strengthens the Kingdom’s position on the global adventure tourism map. The zone also serves as a social hub for younger visitors and others who want immersive outdoor experiences, presenting fresh ways to appreciate both sea and land.

The Red Sea destination started welcoming guests in 2023 and now includes several operational resorts plus the private Thuwal Resort. Red Sea International Airport functions as the main entry point, with regular flights from Riyadh, Jeddah, Dubai and Doha, as well as international services from selected cities including Milan.

Red Sea Global Chief Executive Officer John Pagano said: "We wanted to create a space where adrenaline merges with the beauty of the natural environment, while fully preserving that environment. Sustainability has been placed at the heart of every experience within ‘Adrena,’ in line with our commitment to people and nature, to offer our guests exceptional moments that remain long in memory."
