In a recent press release, Red Sea Global (RSG), the visionary developer behind the prestigious The Red Sea and Amaala destinations, unveiled its latest achievement in enhancing guest experiences through superior mobile internet speeds. An independent assessment conducted by Ookla, utilizing Speedtest measurements from Q3 and Q4 of 2023, showcased The Red Sea destination's median download speed at an astonishing 696.37 Mbps. This speed is reported to be 86% faster than the highest-ranked city globally, according to Ookla's Speedtest Global Index™, which evaluates mobile and fixed broadband speeds across various locations monthly.

Dr. Ahmed Ali Alsohaily, Group Head of Technology at RSG, highlighted the pivotal role of their gigabit 5G network in ensuring guests can effortlessly connect and share their experiences in real-time. This technological advancement is crucial for delivering seamless experiences across the resorts, airport, and while exploring the destination. The independent tests by Ookla revealed remarkable 5G median download speeds at key points within The Red Sea destination. Notably, the Six Senses Southern Dunes resort achieved 1,446.04 Mbps, the Red Sea International Airport reached 1,276.65 Mbps, Ummahat Islands recorded 992.33 Mbps, and Turtle Bay, a central hub for residents, posted a speed of 844.54 Mbps.

The press release further detailed the extensive efforts in deploying the 5G network across varied terrains such as beaches, mountains, and deserts to ensure comprehensive coverage and exceptional speeds. RSG's collaboration with leading telecom providers Zain KSA, stc, and Mobily facilitated over 100 activations of 4G and gigabit 5G cells across The Red Sea and AMAALA destinations and their connecting roads. This initiative included the installation of new towers featuring innovative designs and the enhancement of existing ones along highways to blend seamlessly with the natural environment.

Moreover, RSG's commitment to environmental sustainability was underscored by powering its entire network with 100% renewable energy.
