Red Sea Authority Targets 19 Million Tourists To Boost Coastal Tourism By 2030
The Saudi Red Sea Authority (SRSA), alongside the Ministry of Investment, has unveiled a report titled "Invest in Coastal Tourism." This document underscores the pivotal role of coastal tourism in achieving Saudi Vision 2030's objective of drawing 19 million tourists to the Red Sea coast. The report highlights how this sector can diversify the economy, attract investments, create new income streams, and generate employment.
SRSA aims to significantly boost the coastal tourism sector's contribution to the national GDP by 2030, targeting approximately SAR85 billion. The strategy includes capturing 30% of Saudi Arabia’s leisure tourism market and 40% of total entertainment spending. This initiative is expected to attract 19 million tourists and create over 210,000 jobs, aligning with SRSA’s mandate to foster investment in marine tourism activities.

The authority is committed to promoting investment in navigational and marine tourism activities. It offers administrative, technical, and advisory support to investors, especially small and medium enterprises. SRSA also emphasizes the importance of protecting the marine environment to ensure its sustainability for future generations while enhancing the coastal tourism sector.
Infrastructure and Global Positioning
In recent initiatives, SRSA focuses on providing unique tourist experiences in the Red Sea region. It aims to establish an attractive investment climate by setting model infrastructure standards and creating prestigious coastal destinations. These efforts are designed to position the Red Sea as a compelling global destination for tourists.
SRSA is dedicated to achieving sustainable tourism through effective governance within the coastal tourism system. By fostering an appealing investment environment and developing high-quality infrastructure, it seeks to enhance Saudi Arabia's reputation as a leading tourist destination while ensuring long-term environmental sustainability.
