International Falcon Auction Ends On High Note With Record Sales
This year's International Falcon Breeders Auction (IFBA) concluded yesterday, marking the end of a successful 20-day event with over SAR10 million in sales. The auction, held at the Saudi Falcons Club (SFC) headquarters in Malham, featured 866 falcons from 56 leading falcon breeding farms across 19 countries.
The auction showcased hundreds of elite and rare falcon breeds, including competition winners. According to SFC spokesperson Waleed Al Taweel, some falcons were presented on the auction floor over 11 nights. The event provided a fast-paced competitive bidding environment that attracted falconers and breeders globally.

Al Taweel highlighted that this year's auction saw the sale of the most expensive falcon, a male Ultra White Gyrfalcon from the American Pacific Northwest Falcons farm, which fetched SAR400,000. This sale underscored the high demand for premium falcons among enthusiasts.
The SFC noted an increase in participation from local farms this year. These farms had the chance to learn from international counterparts and exchange expertise. The auction served as an international platform for trade transactions under protocols set by the club.
The event also contributed to SFC's vision of leadership in falcon development, innovation, breeding, and care. This aligns with their goal to preserve the rich historical heritage of falconry and ensure its continuation for future generations.
In its fourth year, the IFBA has grown significantly, attracting more participants and higher sales each year. The strong demand for elite falcons reflects the enduring popularity of falconry as both a sport and cultural tradition.
Overall, this year's auction was a significant success, bringing together a diverse group of participants and showcasing some of the world's finest falcons. The event's success highlights the importance of such platforms in promoting and preserving falconry traditions globally.
