RealAssetX Abu Dhabi Innovation Centre Launches As Hub For AI And Sustainable Innovation In Real Assets

The RealAssetX Abu Dhabi Innovation Centre has been inaugurated at ADGM Academy, marking a significant milestone for the region. This centre is the first dedicated hub in the Middle East focusing on AI and sustainable innovation within the real assets sector. The launch event included keynote speeches, panel discussions, and a tour of the new facility, providing attendees with insights into its vision and collaborative workspaces.

RealAssetX was initiated by PGIM in 2023 to accelerate innovation in real estate, infrastructure, and energy using proprietary data and research. With established hubs in London, Singapore, and the U.S., the Abu Dhabi centre now serves as the Middle East headquarters. It aims to connect local talent with international expertise to foster global collaboration.

Mansoor Jaffar, CEO of ADGM Academy and Research Centre, stated that "The inauguration of RealAssetX Abu Dhabi underscores our ambition to place Abu Dhabi at the forefront of global innovation in real assets and infrastructure." The centre aims to combine AI, sustainability, and deep technology to nurture talent and deliver pioneering solutions that align with UAE's strategic goals.

Badr Salim Al Olama from ADIO highlighted that transformative technologies like AI are reshaping economies. He noted that RealAssetX acts as a bridge between research, technology, and investment. This initiative supports Abu Dhabi’s goal of building an innovation-led economy by unlocking new opportunities through partnerships.

The centre will focus on three key areas: Climate Technologies for decarbonisation, AI-driven Decision-Making for asset management enhancement, and Breakthrough Applications exploring blockchain for smart infrastructure. These efforts aim to transform academic research into market-ready solutions through structured initiatives like hackathons and accelerators.

Mohammed Abdulmalek from PGIM remarked that "The opening of the RealAssetX Abu Dhabi Innovation Centre marks a pivotal moment in our journey to redefine the future of real assets through technology and collaboration." The centre is designed as a catalyst for pioneering research where innovative ideas can be developed into practical solutions.

Research Initiatives

The inaugural research project will explore generative AI's role in predictive asset management. This project involves collaboration with academic partners from Abu Dhabi to advance knowledge in this field. Such initiatives are part of the centre's broader strategy to support startups and build talent pipelines through partnerships with UAE universities.

The establishment of this centre aligns with ADGM’s commitment to supporting UAE’s Net Zero 2050 agenda. By fostering economic diversification and building a knowledge-based economy, it aims to position Abu Dhabi as a leader in innovation within real assets and infrastructure sectors globally.
