RCU And ASICS Partner To Support AlUla Sports Development And Talent Pathways
Saudi Arabia’s drive to expand community sport in AlUla moves forward as the Royal Commission for AlUla signs a new agreement with ASICS, targeting stronger talent pathways, better training environments, and a richer AlUla sports ecosystem that can host more regional and international competitions.
The Memorandum of Understanding is signed at the Cultural Oasis in AlUla and sets a framework for long-term cooperation. Under this MoU, RCU will draw on ASICS technical, operational, and specialist advisory expertise to support sports development and performance services across assessment, analysis, and high-quality athlete support programmes.

The cooperation aims to create a more integrated AlUla sports ecosystem, with joint initiatives that strengthen training settings, raise athletic performance, and advance clear development pathways for talent. Community sport is also central, with grassroots programmes and social impact initiatives designed to increase participation and support wellbeing across AlUla’s residents and visitors.
RCU and ASICS will work together to shape distinctive events and initiatives that can attract regional and international competitions, adding depth to AlUla’s sporting calendar. The partners will also explore digital upgrades for event delivery, including smarter registration, data management, and participant tracking for the AlUla Trail Race and other events.
This step forms part of RCU’s wider plan to develop AlUla’s sports ecosystem in line with Saudi Vision 2030, which seeks to grow the national sports sector and improve quality of life. The MoU supports RCU’s long-term ambitions by encouraging increased community participation in organised sport throughout AlUla.
