RCRC Announces Historic Middle East Premiere Of Global Musical WICKED In Riyadh

The Royal Commission for Riyadh City (RCRC) has partnered with Broadway Entertainment Group to bring the acclaimed musical "WICKED" to the Middle East for the first time. Scheduled from December 3 to 20, 2025, this event will take place at Riyadh's King Fahad Cultural Center. This marks a significant cultural milestone as it kicks off its regional tour in Riyadh.

Stephen Schwartz, the composer and lyricist of "WICKED," expressed his excitement about the show's debut in Riyadh. He said, "I’m delighted that WICKED is coming to Riyadh for the first time. This production brings renewed energy and creativity while maintaining the essence of our story, which celebrates friendship, love, and the courage to defend values and principles."

This initiative aligns with Saudi Vision 2030's objectives by enhancing cultural offerings in the region. Eng. Khalid bin Abdullah Alhazani, Vice President of RCRC's Lifestyle Sector, stated: "We are pleased to host the global musical production for the first time in the region, reinforcing RCRC’s commitment to providing high-quality cultural and entertainment options for all segments of society, in line with the objectives of the Quality of Life Program under Saudi Vision 2030."

"WICKED" is a globally successful musical that has captivated over 70 million viewers across more than 130 cities in 25 countries. The Riyadh performances will feature an ensemble of over 100 artists, technicians, and orchestra members. The production will showcase elaborate stage designs with more than 350 costumes.

Audiences can expect to enjoy some of "WICKED's" most famous songs during its run in Riyadh. Iconic numbers such as "Defying Gravity," "Popular," and "For Good" will be performed live. These songs have become synonymous with the musical's success worldwide.
