Ras Al Khaimah And UK Government Forge New Trade And Investment Partnership For Economic Growth

Ras Al Khaimah has entered into a growth partnership with the UK Government to explore trade and industry collaboration. This agreement aims to expand existing ties into areas like education, culture, and heritage. The signing took place in the presence of H.H. Sheikh Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi, H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi, and UK Secretary of State for Business and Trade, Jonathan Reynolds MP.

The agreement was signed by Sheikh Khalid bin Saud Al Qasimi from Ras Al Khaimah’s Investment and Development Office (IDO) and His Excellency Oliver Christian from the UK Government’s Department of Business and Trade. It aims to foster industrial growth and facilitate trade between Ras Al Khaimah and the UK. The parties are committed to encouraging cooperation in these areas.

Sheikh Khalid expressed that this partnership is a significant step in Ras Al Khaimah's efforts to build strong international relationships that boost economic growth. He stated, "Today marks a significant milestone in Ras Al Khaimah’s ongoing commitment to fostering robust international partnerships that drive economic growth and innovation."

The agreement highlights several sectors where collaboration could enhance mutual growth, including investment, education, culture, and heritage. A joint business incubator in Ras Al Khaimah is also being considered to help UK companies expand into the UAE and Middle East markets.

Jonathan Reynolds MP remarked on the importance of this memorandum of understanding, noting it will strengthen industrial cooperation between the UK and Ras Al Khaimah. He said, "It is an honour to witness the signing of the memorandum of understanding between the United Kingdom and the emirate of Ras Al Khaimah."

These include supporting major development projects in Ras Al Khaimah, discussing food security strategies, promoting Ras Al Khaimah roadshows in the UK, and cooperating on art, culture, and education initiatives.
