Ras Al Khaimah Government Media Office Launches Quality Of Life Series Focusing On Community Well-being
The Heart of RAK digital platform, initiated by the Ras Al Khaimah Government Media Office, has introduced a series of events focusing on enhancing community life and well-being in the Emirate. The Quality of Life Series aims to explore the people, ideas, and initiatives that shape these aspects. The first event, named the Community Well-being Edition, was organised with support from Ras Al Khaimah Economic Zone (RAKEZ) Compass Coworking Space and RAK Entrepreneurs.
The Heart of RAK platform embodies Ras Al Khaimah's vision to foster social cohesion and a shared sense of purpose. Heba Fatani, Director-General of RAKGMO, stated that it represents the Emirate's human-centric approach to progress. This approach values connection and well-being alongside growth. By creating spaces for dialogue and collaboration, the initiative supports a connected and resilient community.

The initial edition of the Quality of Life Series concentrated on community well-being. It highlighted that a thriving society is not just about infrastructure or economic growth but also mental, emotional, and social health. A panel discussion featured Dr. Natasha Ridge from the Sheikh Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi Foundation for Policy Research and Dr. Helen Joannidi from Ibrahim bin Hamad Obaidullah Hospital. They explored topics related to mental health and community well-being.
Rouba Zeidan, Head of Special Projects for RAKGMO leading the Heart of RAK platform, expressed commitment to helping residents discover Ras Al Khaimah's landscape and quality of life through content reflecting its unique character. "At the heart of that storytelling is well-being," Zeidan said, emphasising its deep roots in Ras Al Khaimah’s identity.
The Quality of Life Series invited residents, experts, and changemakers to collaborate in shaping a future where everyone feels connected and inspired to grow. This initiative aligns with RAKGMO’s strategic focus on community well-being. It demonstrates how public-private sector collaboration can bring this vision to life.
A fireside chat with Donald Bremner, CEO of Marjan Lifestyle, was also part of the session. Bremner shared insights on how Ras Al Khaimah is enhancing its lifestyle offerings and overall quality of life. The discussions aimed at recognising that societal success is measured by more than just economic indicators.
