Ras Al Khaimah's Private Schools Mark Quality Improvement, Inspection Reports Reveal
The Ras Al Khaimah Department of Knowledge (RAK DOK) has reported notable advancements in the performance of private schools within the emirate. This progress stems from the latest evaluations conducted by the UAE Ministry of Education (MoE). The recent inspections revealed that seven schools achieved a 'good' ranking, compared to only three in the previous academic year, and one school received a 'very good' rating.
According to the 2022/2023 academic year evaluations by the UAE MoE, three private schools in Ras Al Khaimah were rated as 'good'. However, this number increased to seven in the 2023/2024 academic year. This improvement was highlighted by British School Al Hamra, which was the only school in the Northern Emirates to receive a 'very good' rating.

The private schools in Ras Al Khaimah that received a 'good' overall quality rating include RAK Academy (Khuzam campus), RAK Academy (Al Rams campus), RAK Modern Private School (Al Dhait), GEMS Westminster School, Emirates National School, The Wellspring School, and the International School of Choueifat – RAK. British School Al Hamra stood out with a 'very good' overall quality rating.
Dr. Abdulrahman Al Naqbi, a board member of RAK DOK, praised the schools for their commitment. He stated, "We are thrilled to see such remarkable progress in just one academic year. This achievement highlights the dedication and hard work of all stakeholders involved in the education sector in Ras Al Khaimah. It also accentuates Ras Al Khaimah’s undeniable commitment to high-quality education and continual improvement. Such outcomes would not be achievable without the support and cooperation of private school owners, leaders, teaching and non-teaching staff, students and the wider community."
RAK DOK's ongoing support and strategic initiatives have been pivotal in creating an environment conducive to excellence and improvement within the private school sector. The department's dedication to enhancing educational standards is evident in these positive results.
This milestone aligns perfectly with Ras Al Khaimah's Vision 2030, which aims to elevate the educational ecosystem to meet international standards. Dr. Al Naqbi added, "This milestone places the education sector in perfect alignment with Ras Al Khaimah's Vision 2030, which aims to advance the educational ecosystem to meet the highest international standards. We would like to thank our private school partners for their hard work and assure them that RAK DOK will continue to collaborate with them to ensure they receive the necessary support they require to continue this upward trajectory and deliver exceptional education to all students in the emirate."
A significant number of schools have shown promising improvements across various indicators, moving them closer to achieving 'good' overall assessment ratings. These improvements underscore extensive joint efforts between MoE, RAK DOK, and private school stakeholders.
The continuous collaboration between these entities has been crucial for fostering an environment where educational standards can thrive. The commitment from all parties involved has been instrumental in driving these positive changes.
The recent achievements highlight Ras Al Khaimah’s dedication to providing high-quality education and its ongoing efforts towards continual improvement within its educational institutions.
