Ras Al Khaimah And Miami Sign MoU To Strengthen Cooperation Across Multiple Sectors
H.H. Sheikh Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Ruler of Ras Al Khaimah, attended the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Miami, Florida. The agreement aims to enhance cooperation in various sectors. Mohammed Hassan Omran Alshamsi, Senior Advisor to H.H. Sheikh Saud, and Francis Suarez, Mayor of Miami, signed the MoU.
The MoU outlines collaboration in several key areas such as city planning, public security, business promotion, tourism, Smart City technology, innovation, start-ups, and sustainable development. These initiatives align with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.
Economic discussions during the meeting focused on boosting trade and investment links. Ras Al Khaimah hosts numerous US companies like Hilton and Guardian Glass. H.H. Sheikh Saud emphasised the emirate's dynamic economy and its potential for fostering business growth and innovation.
Mayor Suarez expressed gratitude for the hospitality extended by H.H. Sheikh Saud. He praised the strong UAE-US ties and noted that this agreement heralds a promising new phase in relations between Ras Al Khaimah and Miami.
The MoU covers diverse cooperation areas including urban mobility, traffic management, primary healthcare, social inclusion, logistics services, culture, sports, education, creative economy promotion, public management participation mechanisms, and accountability frameworks.
H.H. Sheikh Saud remarked on the significance of this agreement: "This agreement marks the beginning of a new era of collaboration for Ras Al Khaimah and Miami... By encouraging greater collaboration and exchange, we open new pathways for innovation..." His words highlight the shared values and ambitious visions driving this partnership.
