Ramadan Meals Distributed To Mrajeeb Al Fhood Residents In Honour Of Zayed Humanitarian Day
The UAE-Jordanian camp in Mrajeeb Al Fhood has been actively engaging in humanitarian efforts during Ramadan. To commemorate Zayed Humanitarian Day, they distributed Iftar meals to Syrian refugees and disadvantaged families residing outside the camp. This initiative honours Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan's legacy, the UAE's Founding Father.
Saif Khalifa Al Suwaidi, leading the UAE relief team, highlighted their ongoing support for refugees and underprivileged families in Jordan. "Since the beginning of the holy month, we have launched several humanitarian initiatives to support our refugee brothers and underprivileged families in Jordan. This includes distributing food parcels through registered charities across the Kingdom, continuing Sheikh Zayed’s path of humanitarian work," he explained.

The meal distribution coincided with the end of the camp’s Ramadan Sports Tournament. This event attracted many volunteers from the UAE relief team and camp residents, creating a lively atmosphere. The tournament has become an annual tradition aimed at fostering community bonds and promoting physical fitness among residents.
Four teams participated in this year's tournament: Emirates Red Crescent, Jordanian Security from Mrajeeb Al Fhood, Jordanian Security from Mukhayzin Al Gharbi -Al Azraq camp, and a team representing Mrajeeb Al Fhood residents. The competition featured football, volleyball, and a spirited tug-of-war contest.
A special event was organised for elderly participants, featuring a 100-meter race and a tug-of-war match. These activities added joy and enthusiasm to the festivities, ensuring everyone could partake in the celebrations regardless of age.
Al Suwaidi emphasised that these events aim to strengthen relationships among camp residents while promoting sports culture. They also instil positivity among young people during this significant time of year.
The UAE-Jordanian camp's efforts during Ramadan reflect their commitment to humanitarian values. By supporting refugees and underprivileged families, they continue Sheikh Zayed’s legacy of compassion and generosity.
