Saudi Arabia Announces March 11 As The Start Of Ramadan 2024

The Royal Court announced today that the Moon Sighting Committee of the Supreme Court has determined the commencement of Ramadan. The committee, after its meeting this evening, confirmed that Sunday, the 29th day of Shaaban according to the Umm al-Qura calendar, marks the end of Shaaban. Consequently, Monday, corresponding to 01/09/1445 H in the Umm al-Qura calendar and 11/03/2024 in the Gregorian calendar, will be the first day of Ramadan for the year 1445 H.

This decision came after careful review of various reports indicating that the moon of Ramadan was sighted at sunset today. The committee's verdict aligns with the teachings and Hadith of Prophet Mohammed (peace be upon him), marking the beginning of the fasting month for Muslims worldwide.
