UAE Announces Saturday As First Day Of Ramadan
The Presidential Court in the UAE has formally declared that the commencement of Ramadan, the holy month, will fall on Saturday, 1 March 2025. This announcement follows the Moon Sighting Committee's findings, which is backed by the UAE Council for Fatwa's decision for the year 1446 AH.
The committee met in Abu Dhabi on Friday evening, the 29th of Sha'ban 1446 AH, which is equivalent to 28th February 2025, and confirmed the sighting of the crescent moon marking the start of Ramadan.

On this auspicious occasion, the Presidential Court conveyed its warmest greetings and best wishes to the leaders and citizens of the UAE as well as people around the globe. They specifically extended their congratulations to President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister, and Ruler of Dubai, along with other distinguished members of the Supreme Council and Rulers of the Emirates.
These well-wishes were also directed towards His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President, Deputy Prime Minister, and Chairman of the Presidential Court, the Crown Princes, Deputy Rulers, and all residents of the UAE.
