Ras Al Khaimah Economic Zone (RAKEZ) recently led a successful business mission to Milan, reinforcing its position as a link between global markets and the UAE. This initiative included hosting a business breakfast with top Italian industry leaders and participating in Investopia Europe, focusing on global investment trends and economic partnerships.

The UAE-Italy relationship is experiencing significant growth. Non-oil trade between the two nations reached US$14.1 billion, showing a 21% increase from the previous year and over 50% growth in five years. Italy has become one of the UAE's leading trading partners within the European Union, with collaborations expanding in various future-focused sectors.

Rakez Boosts UAE–Italy Investment in Milan

RAKEZ's business breakfast in Milan provided a strategic platform for exploring these opportunities further. Leaders from automotive, engineering, luxury goods, and F&B sectors gathered to discuss investment frameworks and expansion strategies. Michele Ammirati from Well Tax shared insights into the UAE's tax system, highlighting its benefits for European businesses.

Following this event, RAKEZ CEO Ramy Jallad highlighted the alignment between Italian businesses' expertise and RAKEZ's vision. He stated, "Italian businesses bring world-class expertise, product excellence, and a spirit of innovation—qualities that align closely with the vision we’ve built at RAKEZ." The aim is to offer a cost-effective platform supporting long-term ambitions across various sectors.

RAKEZ currently supports over 30,000 companies, including more than 600 Italian ventures like Italfoods and Emainox Kitchen Furniture Manufacturing. These companies benefit from streamlined set-up processes and scalable facilities tailored to their growth needs.

Jallad also participated in Investopia Europe after the breakfast event. This involvement underscored RAKEZ’s role not only as a business facilitator but also as a thought partner in shaping future investments between Europe and the Middle East.

Through this mission, RAKEZ continues to expand its global presence by promoting Ras Al Khaimah as an entry point for international businesses aiming to grow in the Middle East, Africa, and Asia.
