Rabdan Academy Elevates Its International Education And Research Standing In 2023

Rabdan Academy has notably advanced its global presence in the fields of safety, security, defence, emergency preparedness, and crisis management in 2023. This year, the academy has seen the graduation of over 500 participants across its diverse academic programs, including specialized postgraduate courses such as Master of Science in Systems Engineering with a focus on defence, Master of Science in Intelligence Analysis, and Master of Science in Policing and Security Leadership.

The institution boasts a multicultural faculty comprising more than 40 nationalities, with 90 percent holding doctoral degrees. Notably, 70 percent of these faculty members are alumni of the top 200 universities globally. In its commitment to excellence, Rabdan Academy offered 583 courses and vocational training programs to 9,671 participants from 22 government entities this year, achieving a remarkable satisfaction rate of 97 percent.

Vice President Salem Saeed Al Saeedi highlighted the academy's strategic advancements based on its Vision 2025. He acknowledged the invaluable guidance from the Academy’s Board of Trustees and the concerted efforts of its staff, faculty, and students in reinforcing Rabdan Academy's stature as a leader in education and training within its specialized fields.

In terms of research output, Rabdan Academy has published over 475 specialized research papers, analyses, and strategic studies. Its collaborations extend to 20 government entities, 15 leading institutions, and 38 globally ranked universities. Some of the academy's publications have been recognized among the world’s top scientists by Stanford University. Furthermore, Rabdan Academy's research quality is internationally acknowledged, with a field weight citation impact well above the global average.

The academy has also made significant strides in innovation by filing four international patents, two of which have already been granted. In a landmark achievement for 2023, Rabdan Academy became the First Authorized University Provider in UAE by the Global Innovation Institute (GInI). It also earned global accreditations from ‘City and Guilds’, ‘Pearson BTEC,’ the European Foundation for Quality Management, and received accreditation from the Ministry of Defence's Military Qualifications Centre.

2023 saw the inauguration of Rabdan Academy’s first Centre of Excellence dedicated to major fires management among twelve centres of excellence. This initiative is part of a comprehensive national project led by the academy to address various emergency and crisis situations. Additionally, Rabdan Academy expanded its strategic partnerships by adding 11 international and local entities to its network. These partnerships span specialized security and defence institutions, high-level research study centres, and prestigious international universities, aligning with the academy’s strategic vision for collaboration.

Through strategic partnerships and global accreditations, the academy continues to solidify its position as a leading institution in safety, security, defence, emergency preparedness, and crisis management education.
