Quality Of Life Program Stimulates Cultural Projects With Over SAR181 Million, Provides Around 925,000 Jobs In Tourism Sector

The Quality of Life Program in Saudi Arabia is making strides in achieving and even surpassing its targets set for 2030, demonstrating a commitment to enhancing the nation's cultural, economic, and social landscape. This initiative, aligned with the ambitious Saudi Vision 2030, has already made significant impacts across various sectors, notably in culture, media, and tourism, aiming to provide a wealth of opportunities for citizens.

At the core of its mission, the program has established 11 specialized cultural commissions designed to foster the development of the Kingdom's cultural sector. These efforts are in partnership with the Ministry of Culture and aim to preserve and promote the Islamic, Arab, and national heritage of Saudi Arabia. Additionally, over 30 programs have been launched for training and scholarships in cultural disciplines, creating thousands of job opportunities in this burgeoning sector.

The Cultural Development Fund, with allocations reaching SAR181 million, is a testament to the program's dedication to invigorating cultural projects. This is complemented by initiatives such as a culinary arts incubator and support for cinema projects aimed at film production. Infrastructure development has not been overlooked, with over 100 heritage sites undergoing development or rehabilitation. Notably, three museums have been rehabilitated, and seven sites have been listed on the UNESCO World Heritage List, including the cultural Hima area in Najran.

In the media sector, the program has launched initiatives to enhance community resilience against drugs as part of a broader national campaign. This effort is supported by the Ministry of Media and aligns with one of Saudi Vision 2030's strategic objectives. The program has exceeded its media outlet target by registering 165 outlets and has seen a significant increase in local publications, with 5,668 books published—196% above the target for 2023.

The tourism sector has notably benefited from these initiatives, creating 925,460 jobs in 2023 alone. This success is attributed to support for direct and indirect investments, project launches, and qualification programs that have collectively enhanced economic activity in regions rich in historical and tourist sites such as Tabuk. Projects like NEOM, the Red Sea project, and Amala are set to further stimulate economic growth and improve quality of life across tourism, entertainment, culture, and sports sectors.

Urban Development and Sports Initiatives

Urban design initiatives have been implemented in the Tabuk region as part of an integrated regional plan. This includes enhancing public spaces with parks, walking paths, and improving urban landscapes and services—a key goal under Saudi Vision 2030. In sports, developments such as the King Khalid Sports City aim to host major sporting events like the National Cricket Championship held in Tabuk.

The craft center at the Tabuk Regional Museum has also been developed as part of these comprehensive efforts to elevate the quality of life throughout Saudi Arabia. These initiatives reflect a holistic approach to development that encompasses cultural preservation, economic growth, and community well-being.

The Quality of Life Program's achievements are a clear indication of Saudi Arabia's commitment to realizing its Vision 2030 goals ahead of schedule.
