Qiddiya City Set To Revolutionize Motorsport With Innovative New Track
The Qiddiya Investment Company (QIC) has made a significant announcement today, revealing plans for a new racetrack within Qiddiya City, aimed at positioning Saudi Arabia as a leading destination in the world of motorsport. The Speed Park Track, situated at the heart of Qiddiya City, is set to merge advanced technology, functional design, and an unparalleled customer experience to host a variety of prestigious racing events globally.
The track is distinguished by its innovative design features, including the "Blade" at turn one - a circuit section that ascends more than 20 stories high. Abdullah Aldawood, Managing Director of Qiddiya Investment Company, expressed that the Speed Park Track embodies the company's philosophy of the power of play and will establish Qiddiya City as a central hub for Saudi motorsport and a top venue internationally.

Designed by former Formula One driver Alex Wurz from Austria and German circuit designer Hermann Tilke, the track promises an extreme driving experience with 21 corners and over 108m of elevation gain per lap. It offers multiple configurations, incorporating both a street circuit and an open track section, integrating seamlessly with adjacent attractions in Qiddiya City.
Motorsport fans can look forward to an immersive viewing experience with various vantage points around the track. The circuit is designed to complement the adrenaline-pumping attractions nearby, including Falcon's Flight, the world's tallest rollercoaster at Six Flags Qiddiya City, and a water theme park.
The concept of play is central to Qiddiya’s vision, with research highlighting its importance in human development and societal well-being. The track's unveiling follows other significant announcements from QIC, including the Qiddiya Gaming & esports District and the Prince Mohammed bin Salman Stadium, with more updates expected in the weeks to come.
This development not only underscores Saudi Arabia's commitment to becoming a global leader in sports and entertainment but also highlights the innovative approach to leveraging recreational activities for cognitive development and social cohesion.
