Qatar Team Clinches Top Awards At Gulf Arts Festival, Showcasing Exceptional Talent

In a remarkable display of talent and creativity at the Gulf Arts Festival for General Education Students, Qatar's team emerged victorious, clinching several top awards in the School Theatre Competition. This event, held in the United Arab Emirates from April 27 to May 2, 2024, saw participation from 120 students across the member states, along with 42 supervisors from various ministries of education. Organised by the Arab Bureau of Education for the Gulf States, the festival serves as a platform to showcase and nurture the artistic talents of public education students through competitions in school theatre, Arabic calligraphy, and plastic arts.

The Qatar team's success was highlighted by three distinguished awards that underscored their exceptional skills in the realm of school theatre. Yousef Mohammed Al Haydos, a talented student from Doha Preparatory School for Boys, was honoured with the "Best First Role Actor" award for his captivating performance in the play "The Colour Scarlet". Adding to the accolades, Ayman Darawsheh received the "Best Theatrical Script" award, showcasing his prowess in crafting compelling narratives. Furthermore, Dr. Muhammad Mufleh Al-Jarrah was awarded the "Best Theatrical Performance Direction", a testament to his visionary direction and ability to bring stories to life on stage.
