Qatar Announces Major Expansion Of Lusail Tram Services From Today
Starting today, Monday, April 8, Qatar's Ministry of Transport (MOT) will significantly enhance the Lusail Tram services, marking a massive step in the expansion of the country's public transit system. The expansion includes the operation of the Pink Line service alongside all stations on the Orange Line, introducing ten new stops to the network.
Expansion Details
The upcoming addition involves stations such as Naifa, Fox Hills – South, Downtown Lusail, and several others, culminating in a total of ten new Orange Line stations. The Pink Line will also see a full operation phase, covering stations from Legtaifiya to Seef Lusail North, barring Al Sa'ad Plaza, which is slated for later operation. This comprehensive expansion will bring the total number of operational stations in Lusail Tram to 21.
Service Hours And Connectivity
Lusail Tram services are scheduled to run seven days a week, aligning with the Doha Metro's operational hours. The service hours extend from 5.30 am to midnight from Saturday to Wednesday, 5.30 am to 1 am on Thursdays, and 2 pm to 1 am on Fridays. This expansion allows for seamless connectivity to various destinations within Lusail, including Al Seef, Crescent Park, and Lusail Boulevard, as well as integration with the Metro network via Legtaifiya Station.
The introduction of the Pink and Orange Line services is a testament to Qatar MOT's dedication to developing a sustainable, eco-friendly, and integrated public transportation system.
