Partnership Between PureHealth And SCMC Aims To Strengthen Mental Health In Abu Dhabi

PureHealth has joined forces with the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood (SCMC) to boost mental health initiatives in Abu Dhabi. This collaboration aims to create a unified vision for mental health, focusing on mothers and children. It underscores PureHealth's dedication to providing accessible, holistic health services, advancing Abu Dhabi's mental health strategy, and improving community health outcomes.

Rym Al Falasy, Secretary-General of SCMC, highlighted that this strategic partnership is part of preparations for the Fatima Bint Mubarak Motherhood and Childhood Forum in October 2024. The forum seeks to raise awareness about the importance of mental health care for women, adolescents, and children. This focus is vital due to its significant impact on their quality of life and overall wellbeing.

Mental Health Initiatives for Mothers and Children

Al Falasy emphasised that H.H. Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak (The Mother of the Nation), Chairwoman of the General Women's Union (GWU), President of SCMC, and Supreme Chairwoman of the Family Development Foundation (FDF), consistently stresses the need to create an optimal environment for mothers and children. She reaffirmed the importance of considering their psychological wellbeing and providing high-quality services to ensure mothers can raise their children free from negative influences.

Shaista Asif, Group Chief Executive Officer at PureHealth, stated, "At PureHealth, we are committed to a vision of longevity that prioritises mental wellness as well as physical health. We understand that mental wellbeing is fundamental to overall health, and it's imperative that our healthcare system reflects this by providing holistic, inclusive services. The partnership will focus on establishing a cooperative framework that enhances both entities' capabilities in supporting mental health initiatives. Additionally, the agreement will extend cooperation in other healthcare aspects such as prevention, treatment, and rehabilitation.

In May 2024, PureHealth launched Sakina platform to provide access to holistic mental health care. Dr. Zain Al Yafai, CEO of Sakina, commented on the collaboration's potential impact: "This collaboration will enable both PureHealth and SCMC to extend their reach and enhance overall impact within the community, particularly among those most in need of mental health support. Sakina exemplifies how specialised services, such as those addressing neurodiversity and other specific mental health needs, can be integrated into broader health initiatives."

The forum aims not only at raising awareness but also at enhancing adolescents' and children's ability to contribute to national development. These future generations will continue the nation's successful journey by being mentally healthy.
