PureHealth Partners With Cincinnati Children’s To Elevate Paediatric Care In Abu Dhabi
PureHealth, the Middle East's largest healthcare platform, in partnership with Abu Dhabi Health Services Company (SEHA), is set to revolutionize paediatric healthcare services. This collaboration aims to establish a Paediatric Centre of Excellence (CoE) in Abu Dhabi, in association with Cincinnati Children's, which is recognized as the top institution for paediatric care in the United States. This initiative is part of a broader vision to position Abu Dhabi as a premier destination for healthcare.
The initiative received endorsement from H.H. Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Executive Council. It aligns with the strategic plan to create a specialized medical city focused on the health needs of women and children. SEHA’s Sheikh Khalifa Medical City (SKMC) has been designated as a Centre of Excellence for paediatric heart care, offering comprehensive care for babies and children with congenital heart diseases.

Shaista Asif, Group CEO of PureHealth, emphasized the commitment to nurturing Abu Dhabi's future by providing children with the best possible healthcare from the start. "By establishing the Centre of Excellence for Paediatrics with SEHA and Cincinnati Children’s, we are not just advancing healthcare; we are investing in our children's futures," Asif stated.
The collaboration aims to drive advancements in paediatric medicine through research and innovation, focusing on developing new treatments and therapies to improve outcomes for children facing complex medical conditions. Cincinnati Children’s will provide services at the centre, which will include an acute care hospital offering specialized services in paediatric oncology and haematology, nephrology, metabolic disorders, and minimally invasive procedures.
This significant development in Abu Dhabi's healthcare landscape aims to provide access to top-tier medical professionals and enhance the skills of the local workforce. It underscores Abu Dhabi's dedication to creating a sustainable healthcare environment enriched with advanced technology, innovation, and research.
The establishment of this centre is expected to reduce the need for families to seek complex medical treatments abroad by offering world-class paediatric care locally. Saeed Jaber Al Kuwaiti, Group CEO of SEHA, expressed pride in partnering with Cincinnati Children's and confidence that this collaboration would set new standards in paediatric care quality in the UAE.
Steve Davis, MD, MMM, President and CEO of Cincinnati Children’s, highlighted the importance of collaboration in providing high-quality care accessible to every child. "Together we are creating a brighter future for children here and around the world," Davis remarked.
This partnership between PureHealth, SEHA, and Cincinnati Children’s represents a significant stride towards enhancing paediatric healthcare services in Abu Dhabi, promising a healthier future for children in the region.
