PublisHer Celebrates Three Influential Women Leaders At Excellence Awards Ceremony

Sheikha Bodour bint Sultan Al Qasimi's PublisHer network recently celebrated the achievements of three influential women in publishing. During the second edition of the PublisHer Excellence Awards, these leaders were recognised for their significant contributions to innovation and diversity in the industry. The awards ceremony took place alongside the 62nd Bologna Children's Book Fair, highlighting women's pivotal roles in shaping publishing.

Sheikha Bodour Al Qasimi stressed the need for increased female representation in a traditionally male-dominated field. She praised the awardees for their efforts in paving paths for women globally. "Tonight, we celebrate their achievements and what they represent in terms of hope for a brighter future for women in global publishing," she stated.

Three Women Honoured at PublisHer Awards

Dalia Mohamed Ahmed Ibrahim was honoured with the Lifetime Achievement Award. Her career is marked by creativity and dedication, significantly impacting Arab publishing. She has broken societal barriers, inspiring many women across the Arab world. Humairaa Dudhwala received the Emerging Leader Award for her leadership and vision, empowering fellow women publishers early in their careers.

The Innovation Award went to Hana Hamzeh for her groundbreaking initiatives. Her creative solutions and strategies have helped publishers adapt to rapid market changes. These awards reflect PublisHer’s dedication to promoting diversity and equal opportunities within global publishing.

The awards ceremony was part of a broader four-day programme in Bologna. PublisHer launched its first international lounge, hosting events to promote female leadership and entrepreneurship in publishing. The programme included interactive panel discussions with leading women addressing mentorship, future leadership, and innovation.

Specialised sessions focused on creative strategies and supporting emerging voices were also featured. Participants engaged with top industry leaders, expanding networks and gaining insights to advance careers while fostering an inclusive future for publishing.
