Public Prosecution Takes Action Against Organised Criminal Gang For Kidnapping And Extortion
The Federal Public Prosecution has taken legal action against nine Arab nationals. They are accused of forming a criminal gang that committed serious crimes threatening state security and public order. This case emerged after a victim reported being kidnapped, assaulted, and filmed while restrained through the 'My Safe Society' digital platform.
Under the guidance of the Attorney-General, an investigation was launched. Evidence was collected, and the Federal Judicial Enforcement Office was tasked with identifying and apprehending those responsible. The tools used in these crimes were also seized during this process.

Investigations revealed that the suspects lured the victim to their residence over a financial disagreement. There, they assaulted him, tied his hands, and detained him for a week. During this time, they forced him to sign debt instruments and filmed him naked. The footage was later shared on social media to extort money from his family.
The authorities confiscated both the vehicle and mobile phones used in these criminal acts. These devices contained incriminating evidence that confirmed the gang's organised and dangerous activities.
The defendants face severe charges that could result in death or life imprisonment due to their organised criminal activities posing a threat to state security. The seriousness of their actions underscores the potential penalties they might face under UAE law.
Dr. Hamad Saif Al Shamsi, UAE Attorney General, emphasised that maintaining national security is a top priority with zero tolerance for threats. He highlighted the Public Prosecution's commitment to enforcing laws impartially, protecting lives and property, and ensuring justice for crimes endangering national security or social peace.
