Prophet's Mosque Imam Sheikh Dr. Salah Al-Budair Visits Islamic Centre In Maldives

Sheikh Dr. Salah bin Muhammad Al-Budair, the imam and khatib of the Prophet's Mosque, visited the Islamic Center in Malé, Maldives on Tuesday. He was joined by Dr. Mohamed Shaheem Ali Saeed, the Republic of Maldives Minister of Islamic Affairs. This visit is part of a series organized by the Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Dawah, and Guidance for imams from the Two Holy Mosques.

A ceremony took place at the Sultan Muhammad Thakurufaanu Mosque during this visit. The grand imam of Sheikh Muhammad Latheef Mosque expressed gratitude to Saudi Arabia's leadership for their global support to Muslims. He praised the Ministry of Islamic Affairs for organizing such visits and acknowledged Sheikh Al-Budair's presence as significant for the Maldives.

Imam of Prophet's Mosque Visits Maldives

The Maldivian Islamic affairs minister showcased Saudi Arabia's extensive support through a visual presentation. He described Saudi Arabia as the Maldives' greatest ally in various sectors, especially in promoting Islam and aiding Muslims. The King Salman bin Abdulaziz Mosque in Malé symbolizes these strong Islamic ties and ongoing support.

The minister also mentioned that the Islamic Center was established four decades ago with assistance from the late King Fahd bin Abdulaziz Al Saud. This highlights a long-standing relationship between Saudi Arabia and the Maldives, emphasizing their shared commitment to supporting Muslim communities globally.

Sheikh Al-Budair delivered a speech praising Saudi Arabia's efforts in supporting the Maldives through numerous projects. He emphasized how these initiatives benefit Muslims in the Maldives and highlighted the role of both ministries in fostering cooperation that serves Muslim communities effectively.

The visit underscores Saudi Arabia's dedication to strengthening ties with Muslim nations and supporting religious institutions worldwide. Such initiatives reflect their commitment to promoting unity and cooperation among Muslim communities globally.
