Fostering A Love For Reading In Children Shapes A Brighter Tomorrow

Sheikha Bodour bint Sultan Al Qasimi, Founder and CEO of Kalimat Group, has underscored the UAE’s dedication to fostering a love of reading among children. Speaking at the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Kalimat Group, Majid Al Futtaim, and National Paints Group, Sheikha Bodour highlighted the importance of well-read youth in shaping a brighter future.

The MoU was signed by Fuad Mansoor Sharaf, Managing Director of UAE Shopping Malls at Majid Al Futtaim, and Samer Salim Al Sayegh, Managing Director and Partner at National Paints Group. The collaboration aims to launch a series of literary activities to promote reading among children and youth in Sharjah and Dubai. These initiatives will take place at City Centre Al Zahia throughout July and City Centre Mirdif throughout August.

Reading: Key to Children's Bright Future

The summer programme will feature various book-themed activities, including a bookselling kiosk, reading sessions, book signings, educational workshops, and competitions. These events are designed to foster a love for reading and expand knowledge across different age groups.

Sheikha Bodour Al Qasimi commented on the partnership, stating that Kalimat Group is committed to creating immersive reading experiences that excite children and youth. She emphasised the importance of sustained investment in children's knowledge to foster creativity and empathy. The group aims to build a vibrant, knowledge-based society through collaborations with like-minded partners.

Fuad Mansoor Sharaf from Majid Al Futtaim expressed pride in supporting the community by providing nurturing environments that foster growth and innovation. He highlighted the role of City Centre Mirdif and City Centre Al Zahia in investing in children’s culture and knowledge by tapping into their passion for reading. Sharaf believes that a consistent reading habit is crucial for shaping future innovators and leaders.

Samer Salim Al Sayegh from National Paints Group shared his enthusiasm for the collaboration. He noted that the initiative aims to make reading more enjoyable and accessible for children and youth during the summer. Al Sayegh believes that books can open new worlds of imagination and adventure, enriching young minds with knowledge, culture, and intellectual values.
