Prince Guillaume Of Luxembourg Commends Saudi Arabia's Role In Supporting Messengers Of Peace Initiative Launch
The "Messengers of Peace" initiative, supported by Saudi Arabia, has embarked on its second phase with new projects. The launch took place at the Ministry of Education in Riyadh. Attendees included Minister of Education Yousef Al-Benyan and Hereditary Grand Duke of Luxembourg Prince Guillaume Jean Joseph Marie, along with numerous dignitaries, global scout leaders, and experts from various regions.
In his opening speech, Al-Benyan extended a warm welcome to Prince Guillaume and all partners involved in World Scouting. He emphasized Saudi Arabia's commitment to promoting peace and sustainable development for future generations. Prince Guillaume highlighted the alignment of the initiative with Saudi Vision 2030, which focuses on empowering youth. The prince expressed gratitude to Saudi Arabia for its substantial financial support during the first phase of the initiative. This backing helped over one million scout groups globally, facilitated 16 million local projects, and engaged 32 million volunteers. The total number of Scouts now stands at 60 million worldwide.
Saudi Arabia's ongoing dedication to the scouting movement was praised by Prince Guillaume. He acknowledged the Kingdom's efforts in advancing the second phase of the initiative. This phase aims to inspire young people to achieve their aspirations in a more peaceful world.
