Prince Faisal Bin Salman Commends Dr. Richard Mortel For Achieving Saudi Citizenship
Prince Faisal bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Special Advisor to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and chairman of the King Abdulaziz Foundation for Research and Archives (Darah), extended his congratulations to Dr. Richard Mortel. This recognition follows the Royal approval for granting Dr. Mortel Saudi citizenship. The meeting took place at Darah's headquarters in Riyadh.
Dr. Mortel has been a prominent figure in Islamic history and academic editing, holding a PhD in Islamic History with First Class Honours from Cairo University since 1983. His work has significantly enriched cultural and historical knowledge through extensive research and publications. Over 47 years, he has served at various Saudi universities, including King Saud University and Imam Muhammad bin Saud Islamic University.

The decision to grant Dr. Mortel Saudi citizenship highlights his vital contributions to Saudi Arabia’s cultural heritage. His efforts in documenting Islamic history have enhanced scientific understanding of the region's heritage.
