President Félix Tshisekedi Of DR Congo Receives Sheikh Shakhboot Bin Nahyan For Cooperation Talks
Félix Tshisekedi, the President of the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC), hosted Sheikh Shakhboot bin Nahyan Al Nahyan, Minister of State, during an official visit to Kinshasa. The meeting focused on strengthening ties between the DRC and the UAE.
Sheikh Shakhboot conveyed greetings from President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, and His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan. They extended their wishes for continued progress and prosperity for the DRC's government and its people.

The discussions also covered regional issues, notably the crisis in Sudan. Both leaders emphasized the importance of the Quad—comprising the UAE, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, and the United States—in working towards a humanitarian truce. They condemned violations against civilians and humanitarian workers.
President Tshisekedi reciprocated by sending his greetings to UAE leaders. He expressed his hopes for further development and growth for the leadership, government, and people of the UAE. This exchange highlighted mutual respect and aspirations for both nations' futures.
The two sides called for an immediate ceasefire in Sudan. They stressed ensuring unhindered delivery of humanitarian aid and protecting civilians. Accountability for crimes committed was also a priority in their discussions.
President Tshisekedi welcomed Sheikh Shakhboot's visit as an opportunity to discuss enhancing cooperation between their countries. They explored joint efforts aimed at achieving sustainable development goals that would benefit both nations.
The meeting underscored a shared commitment to fostering peace and stability in the region. Both leaders agreed on the necessity of collaborative efforts to address ongoing challenges effectively.
