PCFC Reports Significant Growth In Smart Traffic Enforcement With 401% Increase In H1 2025

The Ports, Customs and Free Zone Corporation (PCFC) reported a significant rise in smart traffic enforcement results for the first half of 2025. There was a remarkable 401% increase in processed violations compared to the first quarter, with a response rate of 60.4%. This achievement marks a major shift in institutional security efficiency.

Sultan Al Malik, Director of Security Department at PCFC, stated, "This growth was not only in numbers, but a manifestation of a comprehensive strategic vision that turned smart enforcement into a tangible reality serving all stakeholders and clients. The results of the first half of this year highlight the effectiveness of integrating smart systems with field teams, paving the way for more precise and proactive enforcement."

PCFC Achieves Major Milestone in Traffic Enforcement

Al Malik highlighted that the Security Control and Command Division's data reflects a corporate strategy rooted in advanced technology, multi-agency coordination, and predictive analysis. This division has transitioned from reactive responses to proactive intelligence-driven actions, setting a regional standard for integrated smart enforcement practices.

He added, "The Security Control and Command Division serves as a pioneering model of smart enforcement, relying on advanced technologies and analytics to ensure seamless traffic flow and compliance within free zones under the Corporation’s supervision. Operating 24/7, the Division applies data-driven decision-making and sustainable management practices to uphold the highest safety, environmental, and security standards."

In the first half of 2025, the division managed 1,971 traffic-related violations such as abandoned vehicles and illegal waste disposal. Of these cases, 992 were resolved successfully. Environmental responses achieved 100% within 48 to 72 hours after reporting, with no critical incidents noted.

The strategic approach to accumulated traffic issues saw active cases reach 651 by mid-year. These cases accounted for 39.6% of total violations and were divided into three categories: container-related violations (287 cases), unmarked trailers (198 cases), and infrastructure/signage issues (166 cases).

Future Initiatives

The Control and Command Division plans four key initiatives for the latter half of 2025. The first is an Intensive 90-day Clearance Campaign aimed at reducing accumulated cases by half through task forces and accelerated legal processes. The second initiative involves integrating a Centralised Dashboard for real-time supervision.

The third initiative focuses on auditing infrastructure and digital signage to identify gaps and rectify deficiencies. Lastly, developing Predictive Intelligence Infrastructure will establish an advanced database to prepare for proactive enforcement capabilities by 2026.

This strategic plan underscores PCFC's commitment to enhancing traffic management through innovative solutions while maintaining high safety standards across its operations.
