UAE: Get Free Breast Cancer Screenings This October With Pink Caravan
As breast cancer awareness month, known as Pink October, nears, the Pink Caravan (PC) will provide free screenings and educational sessions across the UAE. This annual initiative by the Friends of Cancer Patients (FOCP) aims to support the battle against breast cancer.
The campaign, themed 'Powered by You,’ encourages both individuals and organisations from public and private sectors to utilise and promote these services. The focus is on highlighting the importance of early detection and fostering a culture that values a healthy lifestyle and diet.

Aisha Al Mulla, Director of FOCP, emphasised the collective responsibility in combating breast cancer. She stated, "The fight against breast cancer is a collective responsibility that goes beyond the healthcare sector, involving both public and private sectors. Partnerships with various stakeholders are crucial in spreading the message of early detection, providing vital resources for patients, and ensuring that awareness campaigns are effective and far-reaching. Everyone—companies, institutions, and individuals—has a role to play in this mission."
Al Mulla also highlighted FOCP's commitment to continuous community support beyond Pink October. She said, "At FOCP, we are committed to fostering a culture of continuous community support, with efforts extending beyond Pink October to provide year-round assistance to patients and their families through digital platforms to engage directly with the community, offering ongoing support and advice. The significant role of youth in raising awareness cannot be overstated, and I encourage them to join us, and use their creativity to inspire and lead in the fight against breast cancer."
The initiative underscores that everyone has a part to play in this mission. By working together with various stakeholders, including companies and institutions, they aim to spread the message effectively.
Throughout October, PC will offer numerous opportunities for free screenings and educational sessions. These efforts aim to ensure that more people understand the importance of early detection.
The campaign also stresses maintaining a healthy lifestyle as part of prevention strategies. By promoting good dietary habits and regular health check-ups, PC hopes to reduce breast cancer cases.
