PIF's Sponsorship Of Saudi Ladies International Golf Tournament Highlights Commitment To Equality In Sports
The Public Investment Fund (PIF) is actively supporting golf through its partnership with Golf Saudi. They are the official sponsor of the Saudi Ladies International, taking place at Riyadh Golf Club from February 13 to 15. This sponsorship highlights PIF's dedication to promoting equality in sports by ensuring equal prize money for both women's and men's tournaments, which they also sponsor.
This initiative strengthens Saudi Arabia's position as a global golf destination and supports efforts to empower women in elite sports competitions. The investment by PIF and Golf Saudi reflects their commitment to creating opportunities in golf for all age groups, particularly by supporting women's participation in the sport.

PIF aims to increase sports participation within the Kingdom and enhance golf's global appeal. Their efforts include ensuring equal opportunities for everyone to engage in the sport, empowering aspiring talent in the Middle East to enter professional golf, and launching innovative tourism initiatives by developing world-class golf facilities across Saudi Arabia.
The Saudi Ladies International will feature 112 professional players, including notable names like Ruoning Yin, Charley Hull, and Patty Tavatanakit. The tournament boasts a prize pool of $5 million (SAR18.75 million), making it the largest purse for any women's golf tournament outside of major events and select Ladies Professional Golf Association (LPGA) competitions.
Before the tournament begins, teams will be formed, with 28 teams competing over the first two days for a $500,000 prize. The top 60 players, along with any ties from the initial rounds, will advance to the final round. In this round, they will compete for the grand prize of $4.5 million.
This strategic partnership between PIF and Golf Saudi not only promotes gender equality but also enhances Saudi Arabia's reputation as a premier destination for golf enthusiasts worldwide. By investing in such initiatives, they are paving the way for more inclusive sports opportunities within the Kingdom.
