PIF Establishes QSAS To Create Immersive Experiences Inspired By Saudi Heritage And Islamic History
The Public Investment Fund (PIF) has introduced the National Interactive Entertainment Company, known as QSAS, to craft immersive storytelling experiences rooted in Saudi heritage and Islamic history. This initiative aims to enrich the cultural scene by developing interactive exhibitions that cater to the increasing demand for quality cultural experiences among pilgrims and tourists.
QSAS, meaning "stories" in Arabic, will focus on creating, owning, and managing top-tier interactive exhibitions throughout Saudi Arabia. The company intends to highlight significant historical events and influential figures from both Saudi Arabia and beyond. Initially, QSAS will host local exhibitions featuring narratives inspired by Islamic history and Saudi culture, with plans to expand globally.

The establishment of QSAS aligns with PIF's strategy to empower the local private sector through partnerships in construction, event management, and technology. By 2030, it is expected to generate over 11,000 direct and indirect jobs. Mishary Alibraheem, Head of Entertainment at PIF, stated: "The tourism and entertainment sector is a strategic local priority for PIF."
QSAS will enhance Saudi Arabia's appeal as a tourist destination by investing in local talent to develop new economic activities centred on interactive experiences. This sector is experiencing notable global growth. The company will also support other PIF investments in entertainment and leisure, such as the Diriyah giga-project and Dan Company.
QSAS's objectives align with the Pilgrim Experience Program under Vision 2030, which aims to welcome 30 million pilgrims by 2030. It also supports the Ministry of Tourism's National Tourism Strategy that seeks to attract 150 million visitors annually by enhancing visitor experiences. These initiatives are part of broader efforts to boost tourism in Saudi Arabia.
By focusing on storytelling inspired by history, culture, and heritage, QSAS will contribute significantly to strengthening Saudi Arabia's position as an attractive tourist destination. The company's efforts are expected to create a vibrant cultural landscape that appeals to both locals and international visitors alike.
