Public Investment Fund And ATP Unite To Accelerate Global Tennis Growth
The Public Investment Fund (PIF) and the Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP) have recently announced a significant strategic partnership aimed at advancing the global tennis landscape. This collaboration is set to benefit players, fans, tournament organizers, and stakeholders, enhancing the sport at every level.
As part of this alliance, PIF will become the official naming partner of the ATP Rankings. This role underscores the commitment to celebrating players' achievements throughout the season and crowning the Year-End No. 1 at the Nitto ATP Finals in Turin, Italy, which will continue until 2025.

In addition to its involvement with the ATP Rankings, PIF will also support ATP Tour events in various prestigious locations including Indian Wells, Miami, Madrid, Beijing, and the Nitto ATP Finals. Notably, the Next Gen ATP Finals will be hosted in Jeddah until 2027. This move follows the launch of ATP's Baseline program earlier this year, through which PIF aims to develop and create new opportunities for young players and support player pathway initiatives.
The partnership is part of PIF's broader sponsorship strategy, which focuses on inclusivity, sustainability, youth, and technology. By collaborating with ATP on its OneVision Strategic Plan, PIF seeks to contribute to the sport's unity, enhance fan experiences, and identify scalable growth opportunities.
Massimo Calvelli, CEO of ATP, expressed enthusiasm about the partnership with PIF, highlighting it as a pivotal moment for tennis. He emphasized PIF's commitment to innovation and creating opportunities for the next generation as key factors in driving progress within the sport.
Mohamed AlSayyad, Head of Corporate Brand at PIF, reiterated the fund's dedication to fostering growth in global tennis through talent development, inclusivity, and sustainable innovation. He emphasized that this strategic partnership aligns with PIF's vision to improve quality of life and drive sports transformation both within Saudi Arabia and globally.
The partnership comes at a time when tennis is experiencing rapid growth in Saudi Arabia. From 2019 to 2023, there has been a 46% increase in registered players in the country. Leveraging ATP's expertise, PIF aims to further develop opportunities for young Saudis in tennis through state-of-the-art facilities, coaching, and an enhanced player pathway.
This collaboration between PIF and ATP marks a significant step towards enhancing the future of tennis on a global scale. Through shared commitments to innovation and development, both organizations are set to make substantial contributions to the sport's long-term prosperity.
