Dr. Gargash emphasised the UAE's dedication to strengthening partnerships with UN human rights bodies and mechanisms. This includes collaboration with the Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights and special procedures of the Human Rights Council, along with treaty bodies.

The Permanent Committee for Human Rights, established by a Cabinet resolution in October 2019, serves as a liaison among UAE entities focused on human rights. It aims to develop policies and programmes that enhance awareness and capacity in this field.

The Committee is tasked with organising activities, events, and workshops to promote human rights awareness and training. These initiatives are supervised by the Permanent Committee to ensure effective capacity building across various sectors.

Additionally, it plays a crucial role in fostering collaborations with regional organisations and UN committees. The Committee oversees periodic report submissions within regional and international frameworks, including the national report for the Universal Periodic Review (UPR).

Dr. Gargash highlighted that these efforts are vital for spreading awareness and providing necessary training in human rights areas. The ongoing activities contribute significantly to building capacity within relevant sectors.

The meeting underscored the importance of continuous engagement with international human rights mechanisms. By doing so, the UAE aims to uphold its commitments while enhancing its global partnerships in this domain.
