Zayed Higher Organisation Launches Inaugural People Of Determination Skills Competition 2025 In Abu Dhabi
The Zayed Higher Organisation for People of Determination (ZHO) has initiated the first "People of Determination Skills Competition 2025." This event, running from 19th to 22nd May, involves 137 students from various centres in Abu Dhabi, Al Ain, and Al Dhafra. It aims to enhance vocational training and social inclusion by simulating real work environments.
Participants include 115 students from Abu Dhabi's centres and 22 from the Ghayathi Centre in Al Dhafra. They are part of the Ministry of Education-accredited Work Readiness Skills Diploma Programme. This programme is equivalent to a Level 2 vocational certificate and prepares students over 18 for workplace integration, aligning with the UAE’s focus on human capital investment.

The competition features practical assessments in First Aid Application and Coffee Preparation. These assessments simulate real-life scenarios to test students' skills, boosting their readiness and confidence for workforce entry. The initiative reflects ZHO's commitment to fostering an empowering environment for People of Determination.
Abdullah Abdulali Al Humaidan, Secretary-General of ZHO, stated that this competition is a significant milestone in empowering People of Determination. "The launch of this competition is a strategic step that reflects the organisation’s commitment to pioneering impactful initiatives that enhance vocational empowerment and inclusion," he said.
Engineer Khawla Al Dahmani, General Supervisor of the Competition, highlighted the intensive training preparations. A multidisciplinary team supervised training focused on skill development, confidence building, and handling pressure. Evaluation standards were unified through coordination meetings to ensure fairness and objectivity.
Al Humaidan added that the initiative will be developed annually with stakeholders' collaboration. It aims to become a permanent fixture contributing to sustainable career pathways for People of Determination, aligning with leadership's vision for an inclusive society.
This competition not only builds confidence but also instills a spirit of challenge while refining practical skills according to best practices. It represents more than just a contest; it is a platform for growth and empowerment within an inclusive framework.
