Peaks Of Shafa Taif Host Final Round Of Hill Climb Championship With Elite Drivers Competing
The Aqabat Al-Muhammadiyah peaks in the Sarawat Mountains are currently hosting the third and final round of the Hill Climb Championship. This event, part of the 2024 Saudi Toyota Championship, is organised by the Saudi Automobile and Motorcycle Federation with support from the Ministry of Sport and Taif Governorate. It spans three days and attracts tourism and entertainment enthusiasts to Taif.
Motorsport fans in Taif eagerly anticipate this thrilling sports car competition. The event takes place in Aqabat Al-Muhammadiyah, a renowned tourist route surrounded by stunning natural beauty. Over 90 top drivers from Saudi Arabia and nearby regions are competing on a challenging 4.2-kilometre track with 30 turns. The race starts at an altitude of 1,900 metres and finishes at 2,150 metres above sea level.

The first day involves registration, administrative checks, and technical inspections for all participating vehicles. On Friday, drivers engage in three rounds of free practice sessions, each lasting up to two hours. These sessions allow competitors to get acquainted with the Aqabat Al-Muhammadiyah track's unique features and turns.
Final Races on Saturday
Saturday marks the beginning of the final round, intensifying the competition among drivers vying for the championship title. The first race kicks off at 9:30 a.m., concluding at 11:30 a.m., followed by a second race from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. Spectators can enjoy watching these races amidst Taif's picturesque surroundings.
