PCFC Launches Seamless Inspections Initiative To Transform Customs Services In Dubai

The Ports, Customs, and Free Zone Corporation (PCFC) has introduced the Seamless Inspections programme, aiming to transform customs inspection procedures. Launched at Aramex's warehouses, this initiative cuts customs processing times by over 50%, enhancing supply chain efficiency. Sultan Ahmed bin Sulayem, Chairman of the PCFC, stated, "The Seamless Inspections initiative underscores our unwavering commitment to pioneering comprehensive and efficient customs processes. It reinforces Dubai's position as a global hub for trade and logistics, paving the way for sustainable development that meets future demands. This innovation leverages flexibility and advanced technologies to enhance Dubai's competitiveness on the global stage."

Dr. Abdullah Busenad, Director-General of Dubai Customs, highlighted the benefits of on-site inspections at company warehouses. He noted that these solutions are tailored to meet future needs and boost Dubai's trade and logistics standing globally. "By enabling on-site inspections at company warehouses, we offer tailored, future-ready solutions that elevate Dubai's global trade and logistics profile. This approach directly contributes to the Dubai Economic Agenda D33, facilitating trade, attracting investments, and expanding operational footprints for businesses," he said.

The programme offers two inspection options: full-site inspections with permanent customs officers for high-volume operations and on-demand inspections for businesses with varying needs. This flexibility allows companies to choose services that best suit their operational requirements. The initiative aims to improve delivery schedules and reduce costs by significantly cutting shipment processing times.

During a visit to Aramex's warehouse, Dr. Busenad assessed the new service's impact on operations and customer satisfaction. His visit marked the official launch of the service and provided an opportunity to evaluate its contribution to smoother operations. The security awareness of inspection officers is attributed to ongoing investments in their training and development.

Khaled Ziad Al-Kilani from Aramex praised the programme for reducing shipment delays by over 50%, saving about five hours per shipment. "These services are meticulously designed to enrich customer experiences and streamline operations, consistently driving growth across the business, trade, and logistics sectors," he explained.

Dubai Customs encourages businesses to register for the Seamless Inspections service through specified channels. This initiative not only enhances operational efficiency but also aligns with strategic objectives by fostering effective communication with partners.

The Seamless Inspections programme represents a significant step towards modernising customs processes in Dubai. By integrating advanced technologies and flexible solutions, it strengthens Dubai's role as a key player in global trade while supporting sustainable development goals.
