Passengers With No Bags Service Enhances Travel Comfort For Pilgrims At Hajj Conference 2025

During the Hajj Conference and Exhibition 2025 in Jeddah, MATARAT Holding introduced the "Passengers with No Bags" service. This initiative aims to transform airport experiences for travellers across Saudi Arabia. Initially launched during the 1444 AH Hajj season at King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah and Prince Mohammad Bin Abdulaziz International Airport in Madinah, it allowed over 680,000 pilgrims to travel without carrying luggage.

The service is now available to all pilgrims, offering a seamless journey from their accommodation to their final destination. Developed by the General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA) alongside MATARAT Holding, it relies on an integrated logistics system. Pilgrims can hand over their luggage at their accommodation, complete check-in procedures, and receive boarding passes while tracking their bags until they reach their destination.

Innovative Travel Experience at Hajj Conference

This innovative service not only saves time but also reduces congestion in departure halls. It enhances operational efficiency, making travel smoother and more comfortable for everyone involved. The initiative adheres to the Operational Safety Regulation, ensuring compliance with top security, safety, and quality standards.

In the 1446H season alone, over 1 million pilgrims benefited from this service. Expectations are high for the next season, with projections indicating that more than 1.5 million pilgrims will use it. Offered free of charge, this reflects Saudi Arabia's dedication to providing comfort and innovation for pilgrims.

The "Passengers with No Bags" service exemplifies Saudi Arabia's commitment to enhancing pilgrim experiences through innovation. By allowing luggage drop-off directly from accommodations and ensuring smooth check-in processes, it significantly eases travel burdens. This initiative underscores the Kingdom's focus on improving operational efficiency and passenger convenience at its airports.

MATARAT Holding's showcase at the conference highlighted how this service redefines travel experiences within the Kingdom. By prioritising passenger comfort and streamlining processes, it sets a new standard for airport services globally.

This initiative is part of a broader effort to improve Hajj experiences for millions of pilgrims visiting Saudi Arabia each year. As more people benefit from such services, the Kingdom continues to demonstrate its leadership in providing exceptional hospitality and care for visitors.
