Pakistan National Police Officials Recognise Dubai Police As A Leading Model For Modern Policing Practices

Two senior officers from Pakistan’s National Police, Colonel Kamran Ali and Colonel Umar Farooq, have lauded Dubai Police for setting a new benchmark in global policing standards. Their praise came during the Police Innovation and Leadership Diploma (PIL) organised by Dubai Police in collaboration with Rochester Institute of Technology. They highlighted Dubai Police's motto, "Smart.Secure.Together," as a philosophy that integrates artificial intelligence, proactive security, and community engagement.

Col. Kamran Ali emphasised that Dubai Police’s approach is not merely about enhancing security through technology but also about creating a more inclusive and efficient police force. He noted the importance of building stronger connections with the public, a direction he believes law enforcement leaders should pursue. Leading a team of 2,500 officers, Col. Kamran Ali had eagerly anticipated participating in this diploma programme.

Pakistan Officials Commend Dubai Police Model

Dubai Police's use of technology left a significant impact on both officers. Col. Kamran Ali remarked on how AI, automation, and data integration can enhance security while also serving as tools for community engagement. He sees this as a model worth emulating to improve policing methods.

Col. Umar Farooq, who holds an operational role and has an electrical engineering background, found the programme’s technical content particularly valuable. He appreciated learning about AI, blockchain, and machine learning applications in daily policing operations. This knowledge inspired him to consider how these technologies could be applied to improve systems in Pakistan.

The diploma programme is seen by Col. Umar Farooq as more than just academic learning; it is an investment in the future of policing in Pakistan. He encouraged law enforcement leaders worldwide to participate in such initiatives to advance their capabilities.

The officers praised the diploma's content and organisation, noting that Dubai Police exemplifies a pioneering model in modern policing. They urged international security agencies to learn from Dubai's experience to develop smarter and more humane policing systems.

"The diploma gave us a solid understanding of how AI, blockchain, and machine learning can revolutionise daily policing operations," said Col. Umar Farooq. "It inspired me to envision how these technologies could improve our own systems – from handling reports and predicting crime to addressing challenges as they arise."

Col. Umar Farooq stressed that the programme offers insights into how advanced technologies can transform traditional policing methods into more effective systems for tackling contemporary challenges.

"Dubai Police’s motto clearly reflects the features of modern policing," said Col. Kamran Ali. "They’ve leveraged technology not just to enhance security but to build a police force that is more inclusive, more efficient, and better connected with the public – a path that we, as law enforcement leaders, must follow."
