Saudi Ministry Documents Over 9 Million Work Contracts Via Qiwa Platform
Over nine million contracts have been documented through the Qiwa platform, according to the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development. This initiative aims to protect workers' rights and create a stable work environment. It also seeks to enhance employee productivity, ensure compliance with labour laws, and reduce labour disputes.
The ministry highlighted that enterprises documenting 80% or more of their employees' contracts will fully benefit from its services. These services include visa issuance, service transfer, and change of profession. This incentivises companies to comply with the documentation process.

The Qiwa platform allows employers to upload and update contract information for private sector employees. Employees can verify the accuracy of their contract data, approve or reject it, or request modifications through their accounts on the platform. This ensures transparency and trust between employers and employees.
The ministry urged all private sector employees, both Saudis and non-Saudis, to document their work contracts through the Qiwa platform's contract documentation service. This step is crucial for securing their rights and increasing workplace trust between parties.
The contract documentation service is one of the e-services provided by the ministry through the Qiwa platform. The platform serves as the main interface for the labour sector, aiming to organise and monitor interactions among various parties in an automated manner without paper transactions.
Comprehensive Labour Market Support
The Qiwa platform covers all stages of an enterprise's lifecycle, from establishment to expansion. It supports employees from the beginning of their job until the end of their contractual obligations with various services and tools that add value throughout this process.
This initiative by the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development represents a significant step towards improving labour market conditions in Saudi Arabia. By ensuring that work contracts are properly documented, it aims to foster a more transparent and efficient working environment for all parties involved.
