Over 23,000 Violations Of Residency And Labour Laws Recorded By Ministry Of Interior

The Ministry of Interior in Saudi Arabia recently conducted a series of inspection campaigns across the Kingdom from July 10 to July 16. These efforts aimed to ensure adherence to residency, labour, and border security laws. The campaigns resulted in 23,167 recorded violations, with 14,525 related to residency, 5,511 concerning border security, and 3,131 linked to labour laws.

During these operations, border authorities apprehended 1,593 individuals attempting illegal entry into the Kingdom. Among them were 30% Yemenis, 69% Ethiopians, and 1% from other nationalities. Additionally, 41 people were detained for trying to exit the Kingdom unlawfully.

Ministry Reports Over 23,000 Violations

Authorities also arrested 22 individuals involved in transporting, sheltering, or employing violators. These actions are part of ongoing efforts to enforce compliance with national regulations.

The Ministry has issued a stern warning regarding the facilitation of illegal entry into Saudi Arabia. Those who assist by transporting or providing shelter may face severe penalties. These include up to 15 years in prison and fines reaching SAR1 million. Vehicles used for such activities could be confiscated as well.

The ministry emphasised that these acts are major crimes warranting arrest. Citizens are encouraged to report any violations by calling designated numbers: 911 in Makkah, Riyadh, and Eastern Regions; or 999 and 996 elsewhere in the Kingdom.

Expatriate Procedures

A total of 16,441 expatriates are currently undergoing procedures to enforce regulations. This group includes 14,255 men and 2,186 women. Meanwhile, authorities detained 8,622 individuals for regulatory breaches and instructed them to contact their respective embassies or consulates for travel documents.

Furthermore, arrangements were advised for travel for an additional 3,393 individuals. In total, authorities repatriated 10,587 people during this period.

The Ministry's actions reflect its commitment to maintaining law and order within the Kingdom's borders while ensuring that all residents comply with established regulations.
