Over 14 Million Visitors Welcomed At The Prophet's Mosque During Ramadan 1446 AH
The General Authority for the Care of the Affairs of the Grand Mosque and the Prophet's Mosque has shared a report on services provided to visitors at the Prophet's Mosque during the first half of Ramadan 1446 AH. The report reveals that over 14 million worshippers attended, with 1,217,143 individuals offering greetings to Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) and his companions.
Visitor engagement extended beyond prayer, with more than 18,000 people visiting exhibits and museums at the mosque. Additionally, over 51,000 individuals utilised library services. Scholarly lessons attracted around 84,000 attendees, highlighting the educational role of the mosque.

Accessibility was a priority, with over 250,000 visitors using wheelchair transport services. The authority also provided 50,000 chairs for elderly visitors and loaned mobility carts to more than 20,000 individuals. Parking facilities were heavily used, with a 95% occupancy rate.
Guidance services were crucial for many visitors. Spatial orientation assistance benefited 47,761 individuals. Religious guidance was provided to 45,000 people. Additionally, on-site communication in multiple languages engaged 22,000 visitors.
The prayer hall inside the mosque had a high occupancy rate of 93%. External courtyards saw over 80% occupancy while the roof had a lower rate at 33%. Volunteers played a significant role in supporting visitors; a total of 22,589 volunteers participated in these efforts.
The authority distributed an impressive number of gifts to enhance visitor experience. A total of 600,000 gifts were given out to those visiting the mosque. This gesture added a personal touch to their spiritual journey during Ramadan.
Permits and Iftar Meals Distribution
Permits were issued for prayers in the Holy Rawdah: 223,742 for men and 155,630 for women. Over four million Iftar meals were distributed to those visiting the mosque during Ramadan. This effort ensured that everyone could break their fast comfortably.
Zamzam water consumption was substantial during this period. Visitors consumed approximately 3,650 tons of Zamzam water. To ensure safety and quality, authorities tested and analysed 422 samples of this sacred water.
Hygiene Measures and Media Coverage
Hygiene was maintained through extensive use of disinfectants and sanitizers; over 81,000 litres were used for cleaning purposes. This ensured a safe environment for all visitors throughout their stay at the mosque.
The activities and services provided at the mosque received significant media attention. More than 50 media reports documented these efforts to keep both local and international audiences informed about developments at this important religious site.
