Over 133,000 Lighting Units Installed To Enhance Visitor Experience At The Prophet's Mosque

The lighting system at the Prophet's Mosque in Saudi Arabia showcases the Kingdom's dedication to enhancing worshipper experiences. A total of 133,459 lighting units have been strategically placed throughout the mosque, including its interiors, ceilings, and walls. These units come in various designs that align with the mosque's unique architectural style.

The General Authority for the Care of the Prophet's Mosque has highlighted that 307 large chandeliers have been installed in both the old structure and new Saudi expansions. These chandeliers are geometrically aligned to blend seamlessly with their surroundings while ensuring safety for worshippers and visitors alike.

Additionally, 8,000 gilded lighting units adorn all columns within the mosque. This design choice reflects the precision and harmony of the overall lighting system, spreading illumination effectively throughout the space.

The mosque's lighting system incorporates advanced technology to ensure efficient light distribution. This approach not only supports energy conservation but also reduces insect attraction to light sources. The system includes 11,000 ceiling-mounted units featuring Allah's name, extending across new expansions.
