The UAE Jiu-Jitsu and Mixed Martial Arts Federation is finalising arrangements for the sixth IMMAF Youth World Championships. Scheduled in Al Ain from 21st to 27th July, this event will see over 1,000 athletes from 60 nations competing. This marks a record number of participants, underscoring the championship's growing international significance.

Leading countries participating include Ukraine, the United Kingdom, Uzbekistan, the UAE, and Armenia. This year marks the first time Al Ain will host the event, while the UAE continues as host for the fourth consecutive year. The number of participants has surged from 200 in 2022 to over 1,000 this year. This increase highlights both the championship's rising popularity and the UAE's role in making it a hub for young MMA talent.

Record Participation at IMMAF Championships

Mohammed bin Dalmouj Al Dhaheri, Board Member of the UAE Jiu-Jitsu and Mixed Martial Arts Federation and Chairman of the MMA Committee, stated that preparations are on track with a comprehensive plan addressing organisational, logistical, and technical aspects. The Federation collaborates with local and international partners to ensure an exceptional edition that showcases the UAE’s reputation for hosting top-tier sporting events.

"This year’s championship has attracted record participation, reflecting the rapid development of the event and reinforcing its position as a global platform for preparing the future stars of MMA," said Al Dhaheri. He also mentioned that alongside high-level competition, cultural and entertainment programmes will enhance the experience for athletes and spectators alike.

The UAE National Team is currently training in Thailand to boost their physical and technical readiness. The camp aims to prepare athletes for strong performances at the championship. This preparation reflects MMA's growth in the UAE and positions them to compete for top honours.

Al Dhaheri added that by 2025, they aim to offer a comprehensive experience for all involved. The combination of competition and cultural activities will solidify the championship’s status as a premier international event and gathering place for emerging talent.

The upcoming IMMAF Youth World Championships not only highlight growing interest but also reinforce the UAE's pivotal role in nurturing young MMA talent globally. With meticulous planning and preparation underway, this year's edition promises to be an outstanding showcase of skill and sportsmanship.
