Nobel Peace Prize Winner Ouided Bouchamaoui To Teach Diplomacy At NYU Abu Dhabi
Nobel Peace Prize laureate Ouided Bouchamaoui has recently been named Professor of Practice of Diplomacy and Conflict Resolution at New York University Abu Dhabi (NYUAD), starting from the 1st of April. Hailing from Tunisia, Bouchamaoui is renowned for her significant contributions across various sectors including international business, community engagement, negotiation, crisis management, and the empowerment of women. Her appointment at NYUAD marks a significant milestone, not only for her but also for the institution, as it looks to broaden its academic horizons with experienced professionals.
Bouchamaoui's journey is a testament to her dedication to promoting peace and democracy, both within Tunisia and on a global scale. As the first female president of the Tunisian Union of Industry, Commerce, and Handicrafts, she has been instrumental in driving investment and resolving labor disputes effectively. Mariet Westermann, Vice Chancellor of NYU Abu Dhabi, expressed immense pride in welcoming Bouchamaoui to the university. "It is a true honour for NYU Abu Dhabi to welcome Ouided Bouchamaoui to our university," she stated. This announcement comes shortly after International Women's Day, highlighting Bouchamaoui's achievement as part of the growing number of women Nobel Prize winners.

Bouchamaoui's academic credentials are equally impressive, holding a master's in public administration from Harvard Kennedy School. She has been honored with numerous awards and recognitions such as the Legion of Honour and The Order of the Polar Star for her contributions to peace and democracy.
