Open Masters Games Abu Dhabi 2026 Unveils Comprehensive Schedule For A Wide-ranging Multi-sport Event
The Open Masters Games Abu Dhabi 2026 is set for 6th to 15th February, bringing a 10-day multi-sport programme to the UAE capital and neighbouring regions. Organisers describe it as one of the largest events of its kind in the Middle East, with thousands of athletes expected across many age groups.
The main competition calendar will run from 7th to 14th February, following the opening ceremony at Zayed Sports City on 6th February. Events will be spread across Abu Dhabi, Al Ain, and Al Dhafra, creating a distributed hosting model that uses major sports hubs and dedicated facilities across the emirate.

The Supreme Organising Committee for the Open Masters Games Abu Dhabi 2026 has released the full timetable and latest planning updates, marking a key step in preparations. The Games will use more than 20 venues, including Hazza Bin Zayed Stadium, Abu Dhabi Cricket and Sports Hub, and several specialised arenas and clubs.
Competitions will also take place at Al Hudayriat Island, ADNEC Centre, Khalifa International Bowling Centre, Al Marfa, Al Wathba Racecourse, Abu Dhabi Marine Sports Club, Abu Dhabi Falconers Club – Al Falah, Al Ain Equestrian and Shooting Club, Abu Dhabi Golf Club, Yas Acres, Yas Links, Abu Dhabi Equestrian Club, Mubadala Arena, Space 42, Al Ain Adventure, Padel Kingdom Abu Dhabi, The Club – Abu Dhabi, Abu Dhabi Aquatics Club, and Fatima Bint Mubarak Ladies Sports Academy.
Core programme sports range from traditional stadium disciplines to indoor and water-based events. Athletes will compete in archery, athletics, badminton, basketball, bowling, rowing, chess, cricket, cycling, football, golf, show jumping, ice hockey, judo, jiu-jitsu, karate, Muay Thai, netball, hurdles, orienteering, padel, rugby, sailing, shooting, squash, swimming, table tennis, tennis, triathlon, volleyball, weightlifting, and beach wrestling.
Traditional Emirati sports will sit alongside the main programme. The "Al-Tabba" competition is scheduled in Al Ain on 13th and 14th February, while camel racing will be held at Al Wathba Racecourse on 14th February. Falconry contests at Abu Dhabi Falconers Club – Al Falah will run on 13th and 14th February.
Sea-based heritage disciplines are also listed. Traditional sailing and heritage diving in Al Marfa are set for 7th and 8th February, with reserve days on 13th and 14th February. Endurance horse races are planned between 7th and 14th February, adding another long-distance challenge to the Games calendar.
The women’s programme within the Open Masters Games Abu Dhabi 2026 will be hosted at the Fatima Bint Mubarak Ladies Sports Academy. Events there will feature athletics, indoor volleyball, basketball, padel, and seven-a-side football, giving female participants a focused schedule within a dedicated facility.

During a press conference at the 1 Billion Followers Summit in Dubai, Minister of Sports Dr. Ahmad Belhoul Al Falasi said the Open Masters Games Abu Dhabi 2026 reflects a national outlook that views sport as part of daily life, improving public health and supporting stronger social connections across communities.
The event is held under the patronage of H.H. Sheikh Theyab bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Chairman of the Presidential Court for Development and Fallen Heroes’ Affairs. Talal Al Hashemi, Executive Director of the Events Sector at Abu Dhabi Sports Council, stated that 38 sports and multiple age categories will be included, with high international registration expected, offering a comprehensive experience for both participants and spectators.
