Oman Confirms Start Of Dhul Hijjah, Sets Eid Al Adha On June 17
The moon sighting committee of the Ministry of Endowments and Religious Affairs (MERA) in Oman announced that the moon of Dhuljah 1445 AH was not sighted Thursday. As a result, Saturday, June 8, will mark the beginning of Dhul Hijjah, and Monday, June 17, will be observed as the first day of Eid Al Adha.
On this occasion, MERA extended heartfelt congratulations and greetings to His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tariq, Sultan of Oman. The ministry also prayed for his continued good health, happiness, and long life. Additionally, MERA expressed hopes for progress and prosperity for the Omani people and all Muslim countries.

Meanwhile, in Saudi Arabia the Supreme Court has confirmed the sighting of the crescent moon, which signals the start of the Islamic month of Dhul Hijjah. This sighting occurred on Thursday, June 6, marking the end of Dhul Qa'adah. The court also announced on Thursday that Standing at Arafat, which marks the pinnacle of the annual pilgrimage of Hajj, will be on Saturday, June 15 and June 16 Sunday is the first day of the Eid Al-Adha celebrations, the Saudi Press Agency reported.
