Olympic Champions To Compete In Dubai's Inaugural Women's Triathlon World Cup On December 7

Dubai is set to host its inaugural Women’s Triathlon World Cup on December 7. This event, organised by the Dubai Sports Council with World Triathlon and the UAE Triathlon Federation, will take place on Dubai Islands. It marks a significant milestone in the Sheikha Hind Sports Initiative and aligns with the Dubai Sports Plan 2033.

The triathlon will feature elite athletes competing in swimming, cycling, and running across five categories. These include Individual Professionals, Individual Sprint for Amateurs (750m swim, 20km cycle, 5km run), Individual Super Sprint for age groups and beginners (400m swim, 10km cycle, 2.5km run), and a Team category where three athletes participate in different disciplines within the Sprint and Super Sprint distances.

World Triathlon has announced the first group of international competitors. American Olympic champion Gwen Rosemary Jorgensen leads the lineup. Known for her impressive record in women’s triathlon, she has multiple World Cup victories and is recognised as one of the fastest runners in modern history.

Joining her is world champion Hanna Maksimava, who recently won gold at the 2025 Aquathlon World Championship in Pontevedra, Spain. She also competed in the Asian Cup held in Borabay, Kazakhstan.

Cambodia’s Margot Garabedian stands out with eight international titles. Her achievements include winning gold at the 2021 Aquathlon World Championship in Spain. With over 77 international appearances and 15 podium finishes globally, she brings significant experience to this event.

Spain's Noelia Juan adds to the competitive field with two World Triathlon Cup golds from Valencia and Huatulco. Her career boasts 15 podium finishes and three major international victories.

Valentina Riasova is another notable participant. She holds the 2025 World Triathlon Cup title and consistently ranks among the world’s top ten competitors. Spain’s Alejandra Seghi also joins after securing multiple national titles in junior and U23 categories.

Spectators can enjoy live coverage from designated viewing zones along Dubai Islands’ course. The Dubai Sports Channel will broadcast live alongside digital coverage through the International Olympic Committee channel. This extensive broadcast highlights Dubai as a central hub for global sports events.
